Simon Koumjian III is the founding architect of SKIII SpaceVariations,LLC which specializes in architectural design, furniture, and custom homes for over 17 years. Simon earned a Bachelor of Architecture at Penn State University, studied painting at Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, and continued with comparative literature and architecture design in Cornell University’s Master of Architecture program. His Graduate Design diploma in 1987 from the Architectural Association in London, England, was with Zaha Hadid; he continues to assist Hadid with occasional projects.
Simon has expressed his dedication to educating young architects as an adjunct professor for architecture design at Temple and Philadelphia Universities, as well as a visiting jury member for student reviews at various universities, including Yale, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania; a visiting guest critic for Zaha Hadid at Harvard and Columbia; and a teaching assistant for Hadid at Yale. Simon has received a number of awards from architectural competitions, and has exhibited furniture in Melbourne, FL, Philadelphia, PA, and Santa Monica, CA. In July 2010 Simon was hired by Zaha Hadid Architects in London as the Special Project Manager - Archival Design and Infrastructure for Zaha Hadid’s Oeuvre .
